Program Overview
Every child deserves a place where they're safe, seen, and believed in.
The West Augustine Historical Community Development Corporation didn't start with a grant or a building. It started with a promise — to show up for a community that had been overlooked for too long.
What began as distributing school supplies and backpacks on street corners grew into something no one else was willing to build: a Class A medical facility, 93 units of housing, and a youth program that keeps children safe, active, and dreaming.
WAHCDC is a development company — not a clinic, not a charity. We build the infrastructure. We own the buildings. We facilitate the services. And we answer to the people who live here.

What kids experience here
Swimming
Learn-to-swim instruction with a goal of summer certification. Water safety and confidence — built stroke by stroke.
Music
Introduction to instruments, rhythm, and musical expression — building discipline and joy in equal measure.
Arts & Creativity
Painting, drawing, and hands-on creative projects that let kids express themselves and discover new talents.
Moral Guidance
Character-building activities that teach respect, responsibility, and community values through daily practice.
Academic Support
Homework help, reading programs, and educational enrichment that keeps kids engaged beyond the school day.
Empowerment
Leadership activities and group projects that show every child they have something important to contribute.
